What happens if there is no one else in my division? If there are no other competitors in your division, we will explore potential mergers. The most likely scenario is that you will be moved up a weight class or a lower weight class will be moved into your weight class. Please note the following: We will not move you up in skill level in the Gi. You may be moved up in skill level for NoGi upon request. We will not merge Adults into Masters or Seniors divisions.

I’m fighting my teammate.Due to the Round Robin format where the aim is to offer you as many matches as possible, signing up for the same division as a teammate may lead to a matchup between you. In this case, you do not have to compete against each other, but a winner must be decided in order to advance the bracket.

Are 4 matches per division guaranteed? What if I have more/less?Competitors will be pooled with opponents within their own division for an opportunity of getting up to 4 matches. In divisions with over 5 competitors, the best grapplers from the pools will compete in a single-elimination playoff format to crown a winner. 4 matches are not guaranteed in cases such as opponents no showing, opponents withdrawing from the division, or there being less than 5 competitors total in the division.
