How do I register for an event?You can register for a Grappling Industries event by visiting our website, finding the event you wish to register for, and completing the Registration process via the event’s Smoothcomp page.

When is the next event in my city?The best way to stay up to date with our upcoming events is by checking our website for the most up-to-date offerings and also following us on Facebook and Instagram where we are always announcing our newly scheduled events!

I missed the registration deadline.We do not allow competitors to register after the deadline and encourage you to register as early as possible to avoid missing the deadline or in the case that the event reaches capacity and closes early.

Registration closed early. Is there a waitlist?Unfortunately we do not allow registrations once an event has reached capacity. We also do not offer waitlists.

What is an incomplete registration?If your registration appears as “Incomplete”, it means that you have not completed the payment step. You must complete the payment step in order to complete event registration. You can complete the payment step through the event page or your Smoothcomp profile.

How do I know my registration is complete?Your registration is complete and paid for once it appears as “Completed” on the registration page of the event and you have received a confirmation email with your receipt.

Do I need to be a part of a team in order to compete?No. You can register as “No Team”.

Can kids competitors register for the adult division?Grappling Industries allows all kids 15 and over to register for the adult division upon request via email.

How do I register for absolute divisions?Absolute divisions are PRE-REGISTRATION only and are an available option when registering via Smoothcomp. You must register for a weight-class division in order to register for an absolute division.

Can I register for a higher skill level than I am ranked?At Grappling Industries we do not allow competitors to register at a higher skill level in the Gi. i.e. White Belts can not register for Blue Belt. We do allow competitors to register at a higher skill level in NoGi. i.e. BJJ Blue Belts can compete at Expert (Brown/Black) if they choose.

How many divisions can I sign up for?Competitors may register for 1 Gi Division, 1 NoGi division, 1 Gi Absolute, and 1 NoGi Absolute for a maximum of 4 divisions. Competitors may not sign up for 2 Gi divisions, 2 NoGi divisions, or just the absolute. Kids competitors over 15 can not compete in both Kids and Adults divisions.

How do I determine my age division?For registration purposes, your age is how old you will be on event day. i.e. If you will be 30 on event day, you may register for Masters. If you will be 29 on event day but 30 the day after, you must register for Adults.

When does registration for an event close?Registration for an event closes 4 days prior at 11:59PM/23:59 in the event's time zone. For an event taking place on a Saturday, registration closes Tuesday at 11:59PM/23:59 For an event taking place on a Sunday, registration closes Wednesday at 11:59PM/23:59

Do I need any sort of membership to compete?Grappling Industries does NOT typically require any sort of federation membership in order to compete. In the case a federation membership is required by provincial/state/territorial law to compete in a Grappling Industries event, competitors will be made aware of this on the Event Information page.

How do I change or cancel my registration?Competitors can make changes to their registration by logging into their Smoothcomp account and modifying their registration details prior to the change deadline. After the change deadline, the registration will become locked in, and there will no further changes allowed. Competitors who are alone in their division should choose to either move themselves up a division or cancel their registration for a full credit. If you would like to cancel only one division of your registration, please contact us.

What is the refund policy?We issue refunds for an event registration until the early bird date. From the early bird date to the change deadline, only full coupon credits will be issued for future events. After change deadline, there will be no refunds or future credits issued. Refunds and Credits can be obtained by logging into your account and cancelling your event registration. Competitors who do not have a bracket or their opponent no shows day of event will receive a full coupon credit.

How do I use a coupon code?If you were issued a coupon code to be used towards a future event, you can find this code by logging into your account and selecting the "Your Coupons" section. The opportunity to use a coupon code will appear in the registration process. If you've received a coupon code from another source such as via email or text, you will be able to input this coupon code prior to the payment step in the registration process.

There is no one in my division, why should I still register?Registering early encourages fellow competitors to register as well. Most competitors wait until the Early Bird deadline and the last few days of registration. Divisions that look small or are even empty before an event typically fill up significantly the closer the event gets.

How do I cancel just one of my registered divisions?Please contact us and we will be happy to make this change for you.

How does the pricing for Grappling Industries events work?Grappling Industries offers 2 division registration for the price of one. The price of registration will be the same whether you sign up for 2 divisions (Gi and NoGi) or just one. Registration for absolute divisions comes at an additional cost.

Is registration free for black belts?Registration is free for BJJ Black Belts (including NoGi Black Belts) at all Grappling Industries events. Registration is NOT free for: BJJ Brown Belts and below Professional MMA Fighters Black Belts in other disciplines
